| Hawaiian Island Surf and Sport has
teamed up with the certified kitesurfing professionals of
Action Sports Maui to provide you with the most comprehensive
kitesurfing school and lesson curriculum. All lessons are
private, 1-on-1, ranging from beginner kiteboarding to advanced.

Day Kite Intro:
The most popular single day lesson is the Kitesurf Intro
Class. This private, 1-on-1, lesson gives an overview
of the sport of kitesurfing. Essential kite flying skills
are taught on land and in the water, including harness
use and board handling skills. The lesson covers the basic
safety protocols and self rescue procedures. We supply
the kites and our exclusively designed range of training
boards to accelerate the learning curve. This lesson is
a perfect way to try Kitesurfing! Professional recommendations
for kites and equipment can be provided in addition to
special kitesurf packages from Hawaiian Island Surf and
Sport.
Rates: Private Kitesurf Intro Class (3.5 hours)= $240.
3 Day
Kitesurfing Program:
This private, 1-on-1, 3-lesson course includes nine hours
of kitesurfing instruction spread over three days. This
course is the fast track into the Sport for people with
a limited amount of time of challenging schedule. the
days need not be consecutive. The lesson covers the basic
safety protocols and self rescue procedures. Up to launching,
recovery and board control techniques. We supply the kites
and our exclusively designed range of training boards
to accelerate the learning curve. This course is a suggested
minimum for confident water persons who intend to buy
their own gear.
Rates: Private Kitesurf 3-Day=$625.
5 Day
Kitesurfing Program:
The classic, private, 1-on-1, 20-hour course gives the
student a great head start in the sport of kitesurfing.
In the industry this is considered to be the basic level
of training for those purchasing kitesurfing equipment.
This course covers: equipment selection, rigging and tuning
for the various conditions, safe launching procedures,
assisted launching and self-launching, waterstarts and
water recoveries. Navigate around moving & fixed objects.
Students will have a solid understanding of kitesurfing
safety protocols and self-rescue procedures. A complete
range of boards and kites are provided to accelerate the
learning process.
Rates: Private Kitesurf 5-Day= $975.
Advanced
Kitesurfing:
A solid foundation of kitesurfing is a requirement prior
to the class. Learn how to get bigger air, land some new
tricks or learn some new kitesurfing techniques for ocean
riding or even wave riding. All lessons are private and
require a 2 hour minimum.
Rates: Private Advanced Class= $100/hour

Many of our students have
found a great additional learning tool by watching kiteboarding
instructional VIDEOS / DVDS. A must for beginners, but
even advanced riders can pick up a few hints or tricks.
